We’re all about Requests !!

Each evening (not Saturday) from 8 to 10pm it’s our Open Line request programme.  We’re quite stuck in our ways as we’ve had Open Lines almost every evening since the very start back in 1970.

For each Open Line we’ve got a team of volunteers out on the wards, chatting with patients and finding out what they want to hear. Sometimes we record patients and have them introducing their own song.   You might be amazed at what gets requested, though these days nothing surprises us.

The Open Line isn’t like other radio shows which tend to only play music of certain types.  We get requests for Heavy Metal, Jazz, Classical, Punk, Country, Traditional Scottish, Big Band and everything in-between.

Our aim is to play the piece of music that the patient wants to hear - whatever track (with special meaning for them) that might be.
